Con Pithoulas the founding director of Conelli Commercial Interiors started plastering as a teenager in his home town in Greece. As a solid plasterer, render was mixed a little different to today being sand, lime and very little cement.
Con came to Australia in 1972 and worked alongside many solid plasterers adapting to the methods used at the time. Soon after he started a plastering company based in Fitzroy Victoria at the time plasterboard was being released in the marketplace. With 10 employees and only earning $20 a day he refurbished many of Melbourne’s heritage buildings alongside major builders.
In 1973, Con split partnership and started on his own incorporating Conelli Commercial Interiors being Con his Christian name and Elli his wife’s name. Con and his team continued solid plastering completing projects such as University High School, Eltham College, Trinity Grammar, Heidelberg Hospital and many more government projects. The use of epoxy resin on floors and walls was a very popular product used in high traffic areas.
In 1998 his son John Pithoulas with an engineering and drafting background took Conelli to another level introducing Conelli Group, focusing on Shopfitting, Architecture, Project management, Ceilings + Partitions, Stretch PVC Ceilings and the bubble panel. With offices in Melbourne and Brisbane, Conelli can undertake any size projects along the whole eastern coast.
Con still actively working concentrates on Conelli Residential Projects, whilst John focuses on Conelli Group.
